I really like this case and bought a second one for my other half as a result. The capacity is good for the size, the exterior feels sturdy and although there were some marks on it after it had been through the airport and plane system (4 flights – one being an easyjet one 😅) these were wipeable and there were no scuffs or scratches.The expandable element was really useful and withstood 2 flights.So far so happy 👍

Made the mistake of previously buying an ABS case (in a hurry), I wont do that again. This Hanke case is polycarbonate, so airline tough, well built and imo as good as the last samsonite case i owned

Very excited to get a suitcase I could take on the flight but unfortunately Easyjet define this size as a „large cabin bag“ and only allow it if you have upgraded your seat to extra leg room or ‚upfront‘ class. Their size is 45x36x20 for ’normal‘ passengers.As a small hard shell case though, it ticks all the other boxes: four easy glide wheels allow movement in any direction or pulling along behind you, the shell is extremely rugged (still to let the baggage handlers try this out!) and of course it is totally waterproof. Inside the compartment is remarkably spacey with the two halves divided by a zipped packing container at the top ,which includes two zipped, mesh type pockets on its surface for either electronics (protected on both sides by clothing) or important papers. Security on the case is a combination zip lock on one edge that the two rugged zip tags can be inserted in.I’ve never had a „light weight“ case before but for a solid body, polycarbonite case, it doesn’t weigh much when empty. The lock is easy to set to your own 3-digit code once you have located the ‚push-in‘ release by the side of the combination wheels. The pull up/push down handle is smooth in use and effectively stored in the inside of the case when pushed down (by which I mean it doesn’t take up much of the packing space)I like the idea of having the two different areas in the case and can roll clothes into the bottom section while putting loose smalls in the top of the lid where the zipped compartment will keep them together. There is an elasticated holding strap at the bottom as well if you prefer to flat fold and hold the contents of the ‚bottom deck‘.This will make a great weekender suitcase (maybe even a week if the variety of clothes is a bit more limited) and it’s smaller size will make it an effective storage in a crowded boot. It is a pity that it doesn’t quite come down to the size allowed as cabin baggage on most discount airlines or I’d be tempted to use it instead of , rather than with, my usual larger case.Roll on Summer!
